Corporate Social Responsibilities

(A) Introduction:

Aqina takes great pleasure to present its Corporate Social Responsibility policy. This is a continuous journey to further improve our environmental, social, and corporate governance performance. It demonstrates our ongoing commitment to accountability and transparency with all our stakeholders. It also reaffirms our fundamental belief that for a Group to be commercially successful over the long term, it must create value for both its stakeholders and for society as a whole.

(B) Our Approach:

As a food-producing Group, our business is fundamentally about food fit for human consumption. We have a keen interest in the health and well-being of our communities and we are committed to taking a leadership role in driving economic and social development in the marketplace we operate. Our efforts are reflected in our Operating Philosophy of “Doing the right thing with the right way, mind, and action”. Across the Group, we undertake initiatives to reduce our environmental footprint, to invest sustainably and to stimulate economic growth as well as looking into the interest of the society at large, especially the needy too.

(C) High Priorities:

The followings are our high priorities with respect to our Group’s Social Corporate Responsibility:

1. Business ethics and conduct.
2. Supporting our people/staff.
3. Food safety and hygiene.
4. Reducing waste and waste management.
5. Prevention of accidents and emergency.
6. Social cause for charitable organizations.

(D) Procedure & Frameworks:

Our Compliance with the Laws for food safety production in Malaysia & Singapore:

– All our food products meet the requirement by the relevant Authorities, complying with the Malaysian Food Act 1983 and Food Regulation 1985 as well as guidelines by Department of Veterinary Service.

– In Singapore, the Food Safety Division of the Health Sciences Authority was established to provide regulatory support to government agencies and protect the community from chemical and radiation safety risk in the food supply.

– serves as the reference laboratory to the Agri-food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore to ensure the safety of food in Singapore.
